Hello June! Wow! Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? UNBELIEVABLE! I heard someone in my community make the statement that he thinks the older he gets, the faster time goes by. He may have something there. Of course, we all have the same 24-hour days to live in. The days seem to go faster as an adult. Our lives can get so busy.
I had initially intended to start this post differently. I wanted to start this post like I start my daily routine. I always try to start with an “Attitude of Gratitude”. When I open my eyes each day, I like to silently say, “Thank you, Lord God, for another day.” Of course, I’m still trying to wake up fully, so on some days, I say it out loud. On other days, my list is a little longer. I’m thankful for my Lord and God, for life, health, strength, and my family, among other things. I know that we are all different, so your time to complete this may vary. I think it’s essential to do it daily. For me, it sets my inner attitude and perspective. No matter what the day brings, having that “Attitude of Gratitude” moment in the morning helps me refocus my inner thoughts and responses to whatever situation from a more positive perspective. Without trying, we can come across WAY TOO MANY negative situations and words in our daily life, so this is important.
I’m glad for this month for different reasons. I love the Spring and summer seasons. Except for the last seven or so years, I couldn’t wait for the time to take a small break from students. Yes, most of my time (from August to June) was spent in the classroom. Also, for many, this is vacation season! We all know that people spend their vacation time in different ways. Some are taking a staycation, while others have opted for a vacation away from their city or state. It’s also almost Juneteenth and Father’s Day. In later June posts, we will take the opportunity to explore these topics. Is June still considered Wedding month? You will have to let me know. Although I know several people who have gotten married this year, those weddings were not in June. Let me know. I’m not sure if that’s still the case. Just in case you have a birthday this month, Happy Birthday! Summer birthdays are also fun. With all of these things in mind, I wish you a fantastic day and month. Stay tuned for my next post.
